Hi Kevin! I had a minute and was just checking to see if your site was up yet…I’m thrilled to be able to be the first to sign your guestbook! We all hope everything is going well for you. Know that we are thinking of you and your family and will be in touch soon. Love, Jamie, Travis, Nic and Grace
Glad you finally escaped from the nurses’ grasp of needles and bad hospital food. Live this week up. Monday it’s back to the bed for you and hours upon hours of countless boredom. I’ll bring you a potato and a fork and you can entertain yourself by tossing it in the air and trying to catch it.
You don’t know me, but I have worked with your mom for over 10 years now, and have the utmost respect for her and her dedication to her family. You are in my thoughts and prayers, so you’ve got alot of people out there pulling for you.
Hi Kevin, Barb, and Dick - Just wanted to stop by and visit - will stop in a lot during this season of your lives, once again! Our prayers are with you, as well as hope and faith that this journey’s outcome will be good, and that He who causes all things to work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purposes, will do a marvelous work in you through this trying time! Be strong and courageous, do not tremble nor be afraid, for the Lord your God is with you! love you all lots, Diana
We are sending many positive thoughts and wishes your way. We were going to send the warmer NC winter also, but sorry, we got greedy. Kidding! And hey - what would MN be without snow? Good luck to you. We know your humor and courage (and Johnny contacts) will see you through the trying days ahead.
Many hugs and much love to you,
Michele, Tim, Kyra & Gus
Kevin, great name! I am praying that you just totally nip this thing in the butt! It has been such a great pleasure getting to know you in the first semester, and I miss walking by your room and seeing you goofballs playing some N64 game. I went to vist your room today, and saw Mike Steck sleeping on the couch and Marcus in your bed. I told them I wish you were there with them. I cannot imagine the fight that comes from within when faced with such a blow, but I do know what the human spirit can accomplish. God has all given us minor details that we see as negative, but only in the end do we truly know why things happen the way they do. It is in my deepest desire that you recover fully, and you come back with your bright and warming smile so I can annhilate you in Mario Kart 64. LOL. I love you, and I pray for your full recovery!
Kevin, I don’t know you well but I want you to know I am thinking about you and I will keep you in my prayers. You are a strong and detirmined young man and I know you will make it through this as you have before. Best wihes, Connie Douvier
It has been simply amazing to me in my time as an RA here in Tommy to see the sense of community and true family that exists between all of the guys on the floor. You will always be a part of this Tommy 4 family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
It was sad to read the latest update and to know things aren’t going very well. I hope and pray everything turns around for you Kevin. I will pray for all of you.
Let me know if there is anything I could do to help in anyway.
Dick, Barb & Kevin. Thinking of you lots! You are all in my prayers daily and my thoughts always. Your strength & perserverance amaze me and puts life into perspective. Please know I care and you are all in my heart forever. If there is EVER anything you need, you have my number.
Good morning, Kevin!! We are so happy to hear the surgery went well. I was thinking about you yesterday and could barely get any work done. If it’s not too much trouble, could you have a surgery every day? ha ha
So great to hear you are OK. Many thoughts, Travis
Hurray!! So glad to hear that your surgery went well. Oh how wonderful is the power of prayer! Thank you Lord. You have alot of great doctors helping you along the way. You are an awesome young man. Hang in there Kevin. You will be home before you know it.
Kevin, Way to hang tough! Very glad to hear your surgery went smoothly. Sounds like your doctors are second to none, just like you! We’ll be thinking of you.
Just have been wondering how you are doing, and how things are progressing! Keep thinking about you and praying for a good outcome! Don’t let your humor elude you - it is a wonderful tool for getting through trying and difficult times with grace!
May our Lord bless you with His comfort and peace, and bring healing to you in all areas that are so badly in need of it!
Ok - now I have had chemo, but not like this heavy duty stuff! So, I wonder with it being such a beefed up version of chemo, do you get any good side benefits from this, like glowing in the dark??? ;)
KEV-BO!
Hey man, keep hanging in there…i apologize for not signing in before but i just got the address for the site. I plan on checking the site out frequently, and whenever you feel up for visitors let me know because i have some time off school in the near future (really basically whenever i want because i have a tendancy to skip fairly often :P) and i would love to visit and hang out, so if you want to send me a time and a place and i’ll be there :). My parents also would like to say hello so you know that we finally have access to the updates, and thanks for sending us the address. Anyway i will hopefully talk to ya soon, and in the meantime try not too hit on too many of your nurses haha.

wow it was cold this morning, 15 below. out here in the sticks. we are losing body parts right and left out here on the farm. i had my wisdom teeth pulled and dustin lost his appendix, both in 24 hours. didn’t think you would be interested in transplanting any of those , so we just told them to throw them out. lots of smarts in those wisdoms of mine, seemed like kind of a waste!!! mike
I’ve been thinking about you ever since your mom sent the initial email. It’s nice that you have a website to see how things are going. Heidi has kept me in the loop, as well. I made chocolate chip cookies today and thought of YOU some more, since we brought you some the last time I baked. Anyway, just a little note to finally say we’ve been thinking about you a LOT !!! May you find comfort in knowing that you are ALWAYS on our mind and in our prayers as you journey ahead. We will come visit, again, when Heidi is home. I’ll even bring treats! (if you’d like)
Sorry we didn’t make it tonight. We’ll see you tomorrow though, with BBQ rescue chips in hand. Any other requests?
It’s a good thing they keep re-painting the wall in front of your bed so you have something to do. Maybe we should get you a Chia-pet so you can watch the grass grow, too.
Keep yer eye out for new pics from all of this last weekend (Mira’s B-day) along with our quick visit with you on Thursday. Hopefully I’ll get ‘em all up tomorrow. We’ll see.
You have a very nice website. I know our website for Jeremiah has been a blessing to us. Kevin, hope your not getting too bored there in the hospital. Keep the nurses on their toes…they really do like that! Barb, you have many people thinking & praying about you and your family. The Carlson’s
I hope you are giving the nurses a hard time. We just got this site, finally. For some reason, we did not receive it the first time. Sound like you have been having quite the time…damn little pesky cancer cells can be quite annoying to control, huh? We are praying for you, and wish there was more we could do. Hang in there. Jo and Mike Flanders
Hey Kevin! Shannon and I hope you feel better really soon. Looks like you’ve got some good friends at SJU-I guess Johnnies aren’t all THAT bad….some day, they might even catch up to Morris. Let us know if you need anything at all-we’re thinking about you!

good to see the updates, and good hear that chemo seems to be going as well as chemo can for now….it is going to be a shame to see that hair go again though….fortunately for you my horses have a lot of extra hair right now, so if you want im sure we could hook ya up with a nice black, brown, and white spotted wig. You would have to excuse a few of the manure stains from the pasture though. im sure it would look very professional too…i mean does anything unprofessional ever come from your crazy flandii relatives? Good luck with the rest of the chemo, and keep those spirits up!
Hey there bud! Just thought I would give you a little taste of how I’d greet you on your arrival at the theater those Thursday nights! We miss you.
A huge THANK YOU to your mother for the updates she puts in here. Doc, Erik, Mohs and I check this site often. Hang in there and get better soon! We want to see the ‘mullet’ again and that gawd-awful hat!!
Hi Kevin, it is soooooooooo great that you get to go home tomorrow even though you have to be hooked up to fluids. But it is better to be home all hooked up and getting tangled in tubes than not being home at all!!!!!!! I also know what it is like when you are in the hospital and want to go home but you can’t. And then it is just the most excellent thing when you find out when you get to go home!!!! My favorite thing about coming home was the fact of having home cooked meals, not the nasty hospital food GROSS!!!!! I will write later love from me to all of you love Nic
P.S. Here is a good joke to cheer you up even more:
If it takes 2 guys, 1 hour, to dig a hole 5 feet deep and 5 feet in diameter, how long does it take 1 guy to dig half of a hole???
Answer: There is no such thing as half of a hole!!!
