Art Release Party
A while back, I commissioned Angelo to finish his other bar scene. Once it was finished, we turned our Rock Band night into an art release party and added Joe Finn's birthday to the shenanigans.

Ang and Betsy held their annual chili cookoff for the superbowl again. Although the Vikings didn't make it, we enjoyed ourselves anyway with chili, beer, and cigars.
I met Betsy and Angelo with the gang at the Muddy Pig to help her ring in another year. Great beer, fine company, and a few shenanigans. Good times. :)
Kelly and I wandered a bit of the NE Art-A-Whirl. We made sure to stop in at Angelo's new Silk Road Studio where I added "The Green Fairy" to my Brewer collection.

I've touted my friend's talent before, but I'll restate my claim. Angelo has some mad skillz and his brand of art-style is right up my alley. He uses clever use of negative space and exquisite extremes of detail to portray scenes from the futuristic story in his head. He somehow manages to capture a form's essence in a minimal set of lines. The poses and settings giving a mood set off with the colors chosen.
My first print was "The Drunk Artist Contemplates His Life". A self-portrait of sorts of the artist himself. Although all the art at the first showing I attended was great, this piece spoke to me and I related with it. It came home with me. read more »
